Our coaching philosophy is simple: To approach training through the perspective of each individual clients needs and objectives

 

A Coach can mean different things to different people.

 

Choosing the best coach should be determined by your needs. Coaching covers all aspects of triathlon, cycling, swimming, running or adventure racing, from skills to training plans, tactics, psychology and helping manage lifestyle issues.

 

People turn to coaches for a variety of reasons; it’s not just about getting faster or winning races. Coaching can help you overcome weak areas in various disciplines, or technique, regardless of experience or ability. If you’ve a niggling urge or desperate desire to achieve something, a coach can help you. But how does coaching help?

 

For some people, getting professional guidance is all about having a well designed training plan; others benefit from having support and a sounding board for their ideas and experiences. For many people, just being accountable to someone else renews their enthusiasm and commitment. Just the fact you’re paying for advice may motivate you more.

 

One important benefit is that less time is wasted. Whether it’s stripping back on ‘junk’ sessions in favour of more effective training, or someone spotting your mistakes and finding ways to develop better technique, a coach can help fast track you to a point that would have taken years on your own through trial and error.



As an athlete, you have goals. You have probably experienced the bliss of achievement, and the frustration of setbacks when working toward those goals. Our coaches have been trained to recognize and communicate to you your individual unique skills while coaching you through, and eliminating your limiters. We show you that ability is a moving target. Progression and maximization can be achieved with your passion and our experienced coaching. Once you choose the service level that works best for you, your coach will begin to develop your customized plan. Our training plans are like our clients,… no two are alike!

 

Here's how it works :

Since consistency is key, we encourage you to pick a plan that will allow you to have the most interaction with your coach. Your coach will conduct an assessment interview during which time you will be asked to share; goals, what does your current training consist of, what is or is not working for you, how passionate are you about achieving your goals, etc. Based on your interview, an appropriate training plan will be recommended.

Finally, your current ability, irregardless of the level, is a start point for our coaches. If you can dream it, chances are we can help you achieve it. Our coaches have helped athletes reach goals of finishing first time races, raising categories, win Triathlons and Ironman races, turning professional, and even pursue the Olympics. There is no such thing as too lofty a goal! We welcome you to become part of the SC team where you will become one of our many clients that have gone from "acceptable to exceptional."

The question we get most often from athletes: “Which coaching plan is best for me?” Here are some basic guidelines for you to think about to help you with your decision.

 

Also remember we do not do long term contracts at SC. You can switch plans when you like, and all we ask for is a 30 day notice to stop billing.

 

All of our coaches limit the amount of athletes they work with to ensure they can provide a high level of service.
