Dynamic Bike fitting Testimonials

Just some of the results and improvements from people within Addiscombe CC, SWRC and Redhill CC that i've helped make cyclists faster/ more comfortable/more powerful/ less pain/more efficient and generally just feeling better on the bike. Efficiency drills included with bike fit.

Nick came round a week ago and fitted us to our bikes - or should that be fitted the bikes to us. seat raised much higher for both of us and a few other minor adjustments - my power went up 20% according to his computer.and I'm glad to say my legs are the same length. Sam's aren't. I wanted to ride a few miles before passing judgement:
I rode the may flyer sportive two days later - beat my previous best time - which was good- No real problem since. My knee pain that I'd been having for the last month or so ended, moved to my thigh and has now gone completely!! very good. I nearly beat my 10 mile TT PB yesterday - despite getting the finish wrong and having not done much training. felt really good.

I had the bike fit done just over two weeks ago. I can only echo what the others have said on here. Nick was great, it was a nice day so we did the set-up outside on the patio, 2-3hrs of setting things up and a thoroughly enjoyable chat throughout the process! I've been riding for a long time, a fact that I had to fess up to whilst chatting to Nick, but I have to say that I now feel better than I can ever remember feeling on my bike. I have a leg length discrtepancy (LLD), which I was aware of but had never done anything about. Nick raised my seatpost ... a lot! He brought my seat forward and used a few wedges as well. I've done a fair few rides since (upto about 3-4hrs) and it seems to have alleviated some of my problems, I'm still getting used to it all, but I feel much better and more powerful (some of it may be psychological, but I'm pretty sure most of it is real!). I know that it will take time for my muscles to re-adjust etc but I feel better already, so am looking forwrd to it getting better and better. In general just feel better on the bike - ankling more naturally - feel more efficient.

So all in all really pleased and thoroughly recommend Nick - if you haven't already you must get this done!

  • Rider 1 25% more efficient lower average heart rate, higher power, higher average speed

  • Rider 2 30 watts more at TT speed feels more aero, and a lot more comfortable and smoother

  • Rider 3 1km faster with no effort 20% improvement in efficiency

  • Rider 4 15% initial improvement in efficiency forefoot tilt corrected feels more planted and powerful with pedals

  • Rider 5 leg length discrepancy corrected with wedges and forefoot tilt corrected now says is flying and winning for 1st time

  • Rider 6 20% improvement in efficiency knee pain gone, forefoot tilt corrected and more power

  • My efficiency and left/right power delivery was very good but I have wonky feet and my knee tracking was the shape of an 's' - so stuck some wedges under my cleats to improve it. Also a couple of small adjustments to bike set-up. I immediately saw a 20w increase on the powertap at sweet spot intensity during the test which was also there during my next session on the rollers

  • More testing required as gains should actually appear after some time to familliarise with the changes, but initially things look good.

  • Lady A has one teeny short leg and one massive long one so wedges corrected her over-reaching on one side. She reports an improved 'feel' on the pedal stroke and she won her first race today so even if the bikefit isn't directly responsible, it certainly didn't do any harm

  • I also had Nick come round and have alook at my set up,bike, shoes etc.Loved his computer set up were you could see your pedaling, power and HR.He put some wedges under my cleats. It seems i have one leg longer than the other, wondered why i had been walking round with a limp.Got a big ride on Sunday,so that will be the big test.

Such service...Nick came to my office and carried out his dynamic bit fit on me in the meeting room. That got the staff wondering! My previous set up was purely guess work and my feeble attempts at following the advice given by experts in Huw's comic and the like. It really is a two man job if attempting by yourself??? Or a one man and a laser, big boys Oxford geometry set and a clever bit of software and bionic man style sensors capable of creating a virtual wind tunnel in an office in Purley High Street. It transpired that I have got one leg much shorter than the other two but sadly I need more than wedges to sort that! My saddle height ended up being increased a huge 25mm and set back more and Nick also adjusted my cleats. This all resulted in a much straighter, less hunched back and greater leverage being generated by my thigh bone. On an initial 2 minute test run I immediately felt an improvement. So I gladly parted with a bull’s-eye and a little bit more for a pair of wedges and decided that evening I would put my new set up through its paces. I rode one of my routes that I had only just a few days previously ridden and compared data. I saw an improvement in cadence, speed, watts and most noticeably a dramatic drop in average heart rate. So previously my scrunched up position was restricting the efficiency of my diaphragm and breathing. Since then I have ridden the King of the Downs and am happy to report no issues.

  • Instant 30+W increase & more aero position nice

  •  I Had my bike fit tonight and all I can say is that Nick is fantastic. As a keen cyclist himself and passionate about his work, I couldn't fault his enthusiasm. I wasn't sure what to expect, other than get my riding position correct and when he asked me what my goals and expectations were, my feeble answer was to be a fitter, better cyclist. As I have never had my power output measured it was interesting to observe all the pretty colors on Nicks computer move up and down. But once Nick took some notes and adjusted my seat height and cleats, he explained what all those colors should be doing and how I should see improvements in my ride. In a nutshell, I should see an improvement in my power output due to my seat been corrected and my left leg giving equal amount of work as my right leg. (A wedge has been added to my cleat too)I was also keen to work on my fitness levels and Nick offers a training regime based on my bike fit geometrics and output measurements.I highly recommend Nick and will definitely have him back to re asses my progress (I hope). Money well spent!
